Field Research

We believe that there is no substitute for qualitative in-depth face-to-face interviewing in the B2B environment. We do, however, acknowledge that costs can sometimes be a constraint and so telephone interviews are sometimes a cost effective way of getting the answers you need.

Both our UK and Thai based researchers are members of the Market Research Society and field research projects can be conducted under the Market Research Society’s Code of Conduct.

Export research requirements can be as broad as researching all the core elements of the marketing mix, i.e.

Product / service – does it comply with regulations, does it appeal to the market?
Price – it is sometimes short-sighted to price based on cost to market plus margin. Price sensitivity research can yield pleasant surprises.
Promotion – which trade shows should you be at, which magazines should you advertise in, do you need to localise all your current marketing materials, what kind of sales tactics work in the market?
Position – should your brand focus be premium, cheap, British, global, reliable, sophisticated, basic?
Route – should you appoint a distributor, an agent, sell direct, send an employee, employ a local, set up an office?
Sector – should you launch your product / service in the public or private sector, automotive or defence, top tier or mid sized companies, local or international?

Alternatively, research projects can be conducted focussing on any combination of the above components.
